Management Development Program

Smart Solutions is proud of it’s very successful Management Development Program. It is now available in 2 separate parts which makes it possible for more people to engage with the program to begin with. The content of the overall program is based on what is called  ‘the New Learning’ method.
This means that:
• The curriculum will be adapted to the learning needs and the learning style of each individual participant.
• Learning is not only theory but will also be realized by applying theory in exercises in the comfort atmosphere of the course.
• The curriculum makes the translation to the required competences in the professional environment of the participant.
• The curriculum can be adapted to the needs of a larger development program the participants is engaged in.
This program can also be executed as a ‘in-company’ version and it is therefore fully adaptable to the needs of our customers.

There is only so much an individual can do in their work environment. In most organizations people work in teams, those teams grow like children, through several stages, to become grown ups. For healthy growth we have to give attention, support, appreciation and the right directions. We support teams in their growth with team building sessions and with management games. We also use several role type testing methods to help team members understand their natural attitude and behavior.

The tools we use in team building sessions are:

  • Belbin team roles: individual tests and teamtest on the natural tendency to our behaviour.
  • the 6 Habits of Highly Effective Teams, a structured method to understand in which stage your team is and what to do for further development.
  • the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, developed by S.Covey and a very effective method for personal development that includes team behaviour.

Belbin Team Roles are used to identify the behaviour styles that each of us bring to the workplace. This means that wherever people are involved within an organisation, Belbin can provide the language to ensure that individuals and teams communicate and work together with greater understanding and thus underpin effective action in a range of performance development and improvement situations.

  • For a team to be successful it needs to have access to each of the 9 Belbin Team Roles.
  • Typically, most people have two or three Team Roles that they are most comfortable with; a few others that they can manage to cover if they need to; and finally the rest that they prefer not to adopt at all.

Management Games

Imagine this: you and your team are in a small plane, flying above the rain forest. The team is excited, because you are going to a 2-day seminar, that the team is really looking forward to. And even more excited about the 3-day vacation afterwards in Brazil. So everybody is happy and the near future looks bright. But then things go wrong: the engine of the plane sputters and then stops completely. And before you know it you’re diving nose down into the rain forest. The plane crashes, luckily nobody got injured. But there you are: in the middle of the jungle. How do you and the rest of the team make it to the next village, a two days walk downstream? You will need all the team skills you can think of to make it there and drink that well deserved cold beer………
